Cell Formulas
Select this tool to apply all cell
formulas to the active data table, which will cause DataScene to refresh the
active data table and all its dependent graphs.
Column Formulas
Select this tool to apply all column
formulas to the active data table, which will cause DataScene to refresh the active data table and all its dependent
graphs.
Data Sequence
Select this tool to open the Data
Sequence dialog box with which the active data sequence can be played
back. This is a way of creating animation.
Time Travel
This tool can be selected only if the active document is a time-dependent data table.
Selecting this tool opens the Time
Travel dialog box with which the active time-dependent data table can be
played back. This is a way of creating animation.
Refreshing Lined Data
If the active data table or data sequence is linked to one or multiple files,
select this tool to open
the Refresh Linked Data
dialog box with which automatic reloading from the linked data can be
set up. This is a way of graphing and
processing real-time data.
Animator
This tool can be selected only if the active graph
is a time-dependent
graph or a graph sequence. Selecting this tool
opens the Animation
Generator dialog box with which an off-line animation file can be
generated using the data in the active document.
Animation Meter
This tool can be selected only if the active graph is a time-dependent
graph or a graph sequence. Selecting this tool
inserts
an animation meter to the active graph if it
does not have one. With this tool selected, double clicking on the
animation meter on the active graph opens the Animation
Meter Editor with which the properties of the animation meter can
be customized; single clicking on the animation meter and then pressing the
Delete key deletes the animation meter.
Aspect Editor
Select this tool to open the Aspect Editor
with which the aspect settings of the active graph can be customized.
Auto Scale
Select this tool to reset the axes of the active graph to the auto-scale
mode. This tool can be used to restore the active graph after it has been zoomed with the Magnifier
tool.
Cursor Tool
Select this tool to add a moving cursor to the active graph. When the mouse
pointer moves inside the active graph, the cursor will be snapped to the closest point on the
active series
and the coordinates of the point will be displayed on the status bar and on a tooltip near the point. The
stay time of the tooltip can be customized on the Behavior: Cursor Tool tab-page of the Program Options
dialog box.
Graph Layout
Select this tool to enable interactive editing of the bounding
rectangle of the active graph. Once the tool is selected, the bounding
rectangle of the active graph is highlighted and can be moved or resized with
the mouse.
Graph Sequence
This tool can be selected only if the active graph is a graph
sequence. Select this tool to open the Graph
Sequence dialog box with which the active graph sequence can be played
back. This is a way of creating animation.
Grow Tool
Select this tool to grow the active series in animation. The number of
animation steps can be customized on the Behavior: Grow Tool tab-page of
the Program Options
dialog box.
Line Tool
Select this tool to enable adding, deleting, and editing of line items on the active
graph. A new line item can be added to the active graph by drawing on the graph
while keeping the left
mouse button pressed; a line item can be deleted by single clicking on it
and then pressing the Delete key; a line item can be
customized with the Line Editor which can be
opened by double clicking on the line item.
Magnifier
Select this tool to zoom in a specific rectangular area on the active graph.
The area to be zoomed is specified by moving the mouse pointer into the graph cube
and drawing a rectangle while keeping the left mouse button pressed. The Auto Scale tool may be used to
restore the graph to its default auto-scale mode after being zoomed.
Pan Tool
Select this tool to enable interactive panning of the active graph. With this
tool selected and the mouse pointer inside the graph cube, drag the
graph while keeping the left mouse button pressed to pan the graph.
Rotate Tool
Select this tool to enable interactive rotating of the active graph. With this
tool selected and the mouse pointer inside the graph cube, drag the
graph while keeping the left mouse button pressed to rotate the graph.
Slice Highlight
Select this tool to enable interactive highlight of the slices of the
active Pie or Donut series. With this tool
selected, move the mouse pointer over a slice to explode it out.
Text Tool
Select this tool to enable adding, deleting, and editing of rich text items
on the
active graph. A new rich text item can be added to the active graph by single
clicking on the desired location; an existing rich text item can be
deleted by single clicking on it and then pressing the Delete key; a rich text item can be customized with the Text
Tool Editor which can be opened by double clicking on the rich text
item.
Time Travel
This tool can be selected only if the active graph is a time-dependent
graph. Select this tool to open the Time
Travel dialog box with which the active time-dependent graph can be
played back. This is a way of creating animation.
Screen Reader
Select this tool to display the graph coordinates of the mouse pointer. The
coordinates are displayed on the status bar and on a tooltip
near the mouse pointer. The stay time of the tooltip can be customized on the Behavior: Screen Reader tab-page of the Program Options
dialog box.
