Program Options Dialog Box

This dialog box is used to customize the behaviors of DataScene. It can be opened by selecting the Options menu command on  the View Menu.

Appearance

Theme

Apply theme after adding a new graph

Check this check box to make DataScene apply a specific theme to any newly added graph.

Theme

This combo-box is enabled only if the Apply theme after adding a new graph check box is checked and the Load theme from file check box is not checked. The value in this combo-box specifies the theme that will be applied to any newly added graph.

Load theme from file

This check box is enabled only if the Apply theme after adding a new graph check box is checked. Check this check box to load the theme from a specific file to apply to any newly added graph.

Theme file

This combo-box is enabled only if both the Apply theme after adding a new graph and the Load theme from file check boxes are checked. The value in this text box specifies the path to the theme file whose theme will be applied to any newly added graph. The user may use the button to the right of this text box to browse a file.

Aspect

Preferably use 3D view

Check this check box to make DataScene try to display any newly added graph in 3D (view dimension is set to 3D).

Preferable Depth (%)

If a new graph is added with view dimension set to 3D, the value in this spin box specifies the preferable 3D depth in a percentage to use in the newly added graph.

Size

Use auto size for newly added graph

Check this radio button to make any newly added graph in the auto-size mode.

Use fixed size for newly added graph

Check this radio button to make any newly added graph in the fixed-size mode.

Default Size

This group box is enabled only if the Use fixed size for newly added graph check box is checked. The values in the Width (pixel) and Height (pixel) spin boxes specify the size in pixels for any newly added graph.

Behavior

Activation

Graph Flash Time (s)

The value in this spin box specifies the time interval in seconds for which the newly activated graph is highlighted.

Series Animation Steps

The value in this spin box specifies the number of steps the newly activated series is animated.

Grow Tool

Animation Steps

The value in this spin box specifies the number of animation steps for the Grow Tool.

Cursor Tool

ToolTip Stay Time (s)

The value in this spin box specifies the time interval in seconds for which the tooltip of the Cursor Tool stays.

Value Format

The value in this combo-box specifies the value format code for the output of the Cursor Tool. The user may type into this combo-box a custom value format code.

Screen Reader

ToolTip Stay Time (s)

The value in this spin box specifies the time interval in seconds for which the tooltip of the Screen Reader tool stays.

Value Format

The value in this combo-box specifies the value format code for the output of the Screen Reader tool. The user may type into this combo-box a custom value format code.

Always use default depth

If the view dimension of the active graph is set to 3D, check this check box to always use the specified value as the depth value for the Screen Reader tool.

Default Depth (%)

The value in this spin box specifies the default depth value for the Screen Reader tool if the view dimension of the active graph is set to 3D and the Always use default depth check box is checked.

Startup

Show Welcome Screen on Next Startup

Check this check box to show the Welcome Screen the next time DataScene starts up.

Show Wizard on Next Startup

Check this check box to show the Wizard window the next time DataScene starts up.

Prompt for Updating DataScene

Check this check box to periodically show a message box reminding the user of updating DataScene.

Prompt Every (days)

The value in this spin box specifies the period in days the reminding message box shows.

Edit

Data Sequence

Insert rows into all tables if inserting into one

Check this check box to ensure that if one or more rows are inserted into the current data table of the active data sequence they are automatically inserted into all data tables in the same data sequence.

Delete rows from all tables if deleting from one

Check this check box to ensure that if one or more rows are deleted from the current data table of the active data sequence they are automatically deleted from all data tables in the same data sequence.

Paste into all tables if pasting into one

Check this check box to ensure that if data are pasted into one or more cells of the current data table of the active data sequence they are automatically pasted into the same cells of all data tables in the same data sequence.

Formats

Date and Number

Use system Locale for date and number formats

Check this radio button to use the system Locale to determine the date and number formats to be used in DataScene. For example, in the German Locale, "." is the thousand separator rather than the decimal point. An entry of "3.500" in a data table thus will be converted in the number 3500 while the table is used for plotting.

Use culture insensitive date and number formats

Check this radio button to use culture-insensitive date and number formats in DataScene. DataScene will ignore the settings of the system Locale.

OK

Click this button to close this dialog box and save the settings. Any changes made to graph tools will be effective the next the tools are invoked.

Cancel

Click this button to close this dialog box and discard any changes.
