A dock panel is a special window that has several pre-defined window
status and can be easily re-arranged by the user to appear at different
locations of the main application window. On the Microsoft Windows® platforms, a dock panel appears in the main
application in one of the three window modes: auto-hide window, dock
window, or float window.
The following DataScene windows are dock panels: Toolbox, Navigator, Messages
window, and document windows. The first three can be docked
into the top, bottom, left, or right
dock area of the main application window or floated out as float windows; the last
can only be docked into the document area of the main application window or floated
a float window.
