Application Toolbars

The DataScene application window contains two toolbars: the Standard toolbar and the Graph toolbar.

Standard Toolbar

Use the controls on this toolbar to perform the following operations.


New a project.


Open a project.


Save the active project.

Save All

Save all opened projects.


Open the Print Preview dialog box with which a print preview can be generated.

Text File

Open the Text Data Source dialog box with which data in text files can be imported into the active project.
Open the Create Table From Formula dialog box with which a data table can be created and populated with data generated from an mathematical formula.

Add an empty data table into the active project.


Remove the active document or the active project.


Tile all opened documents.


Juxtapose all opened documents.


Nest all opened documents.


Float out all opened documents.


Graph Toolbar

Graph Toolbar

This toolbar is visible only if the active document is a graph document. It contains six context-sensitive combo-boxes with which the user can perform the following operations. These six combo-boxes are listed below in the same order as they appear on the above figure.

Active Graph combo-box

Select the active graph. This control is visible only when the active graph document contains at least one sub-graph.

Active Series combo-box

Select the active series. This control is visible only visible when the active graph contains at least series.

Graph Theme combo-box

Select theme for the active graph document.

View Dimension combo-box

Select 2D or 3D view for the active graph document.

Graph Quality combo-box

Select the graph quality for the active graph document.

3D Zoom combo-box

Select the 3D zoom factor for the active graph. This control is visible only if the View Dimension combo-box is set to 3D.
